Level indicators

With the help of level indicators, it is possible to see visually at which height the level is, for example, inside of the steam boiler. Although the steam boilers have an automated level control with dry boiling protection, the law also prescribes a visual level indication.

Four different models

In a low pressure container it is most cost effective to use a simple glass tube indicator. If the pressure is higher, we recommend a reflection indicator with robust structure. In both these models the liquid level can be seen through a transparent measurement part of the indicator. The glass tube, reflection and transparent indicators are fitted with a shut-off valve with an option of a security ball for a glass breakdown. The connections are either with flanges or welding ends.

In case of a transparent level indicator, light will be added behind the level indicator that makes the level reading easier.

The most modern version is a magnetic level indicator. A special liquid pocket has been made in this indicator inside of which the float rises and lowers together with the level. A magnet inside of the float turns lamellas located on the level indicator.

The advantage of a magnetic level indicator is its clear visualisation. Lamellas are clearly white or red depending on the height of the level. A glass tube as a traditional level indicator gets dirty with time, so it has to be replaced during the maintenance works.

From a magnetic level indicator it is easy to receive also electric switching data or the mA signal for the systems. Also ATEX-classified
