Pressostats and thermostats

Pressostats or pressure switches and thermostats or temperature switches are process safety switches that switch off the device when the limit value has been exceeded. A pressostat receives a pressure signal, while a thermostat receives a temperature signal.

On-off control

A typical application for a pressostat is to operate as a pressure limiter for a steam boiler. When the pressure rises too high, the pressostat stops the pressure input. Accordingly, this occurs as an on-off setting of the pump.

Typical applications are, for example, operation as line temperature limiters or as compulsory controllers of systems when the thermostat gives signal, when the temperature set for the cooling water feed is exceeded, for example.
